The nonprofit Museum of African American Art (MAAA) is usually OPEN Wednesday
through Sunday from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm and CLOSED on Mondays and Tuesdays.
Exceptions to the museum's regular public hours may occur for holidays, exhibit installations,
art conservation days, reserved group visits, class sessions, and special events.
If you are bringing a large group, visiting from out of town, or prefer to visit on a
specific date and time, please email us to confirm hours or make an appointment.

PARKING DIRECTIONS
- The nonprofit Museum of African American Art has opened a new exhibit space at Baldwin Hills Crenshaw Plaza! The MAAA exhibit space is located inside Baldwin Hills Crenshaw Plaza shopping mall on Level 2, in Suite 283, across from TJ Maxx.
- For maps or other GPS directions, be sure to enter the address for Baldwin Hills Crenshaw Plaza, 3650 W. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., Los Angeles, CA 90008, where the Museum of African American Art is located on Level 2.
- If arriving by car or rideshare service, use the directions below to park near one of the upper entrances to Baldwin Hills Crenshaw Plaza for same-level access to the MAAA exhibit space. By following the parking directions below, visitors will not need to find an escalator or elevator to access the museum's exhibit space on Level 2 of the mall.
- FROM STOCKER STREET
- From Stocker Street (between Crenshaw Blvd and Santa Rosalia Drive), enter the parking lot for Baldwin Hills Crenshaw Plaza at the light where the IHOP restaurant is located.
- Continue across the parking lot toward the mall's entrance, which is at the end of the green construction fencing, near parking post number 118.
- Park as close as possible to the entrance of Baldwin Hills Crenshaw Plaza shopping mall.
- You will enter the mall on Level 2, near the Eyelash Lounge, across from TJ Maxx.
- After entering the mall, turn right and proceed until you reach the Museum of African American Art on the right at Suite 283 (between Shoe City and Nena's Organics).
- The museum's suite number "283" appears at the base of the glass entrance, like the address on a curb. FROM MARTIN LUTHER KING JR BLVD
- Enter the mall's driveway on Martin Luther King Jr Blvd between Crenshaw Blvd and Marlton Avenue, near the overhead bridge that says "Baldwin Hills Crenshaw."
- When you enter the driveway, the mall's main entrance will be on the left, and Cinemark Theatre will be on the right.
- Keep straight to the STOP sign, and wait for pedestrians to cross.
- Stay to the right and drive up the orange ramp to the upper deck parking.
- Watch for cross traffic and pedestrians at the top of the ramp.
- Park near the mall's entrance, cross the walking bridge, and you will enter the mall on Level 2 near TJ Maxx.
- The Museum of African American Art is located at Suite 283 across from TJ Maxx.
- The museum's suite number "283" appears at the base of the glass entrance, like the address on a curb.
IMPORTANT: If you are using maps for GPS directions, please be sure to enter "Baldwin Hills Crenshaw Plaza" as your destination at 3650 W Martin Luther King Jr Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90008. DO NOT park in the lot for the museum's longtime location at the former Macy's building (historic 1947 May Company building) at 4005 Crenshaw Boulevard. Some map directions still point to the historic building at 4005 Crenshaw, which is currently CLOSED for redevelopment.

METRO – K Line Martin Luther King Jr Station
Visit Metro.net to plan your trip to the Museum of African American Art. The closest Metro Rail station to the museum's location at Baldwin Hills Crenshaw Plaza is the Martin Luther King Jr Station on the K Line. The Martin Luther King Jr Station is right next to Baldwin Hills Crenshaw Plaza.
LADOT DASH Crenshaw | Leimert–Slauson | Midtown
You can ride the Los Angeles Department of Transportation's DASH bus to the Museum of African American Art! The Museum of African American Art's location at Baldwin Hills Crenshaw Plaza is accessible by three fare-free DASH routes: Crenshaw, Leimert/Slauson, and Midtown.
